What's in a name?
M.Night Shyamalan
Say it. Go ahead and say it. Hear it roll off your tongue. Better yet. Say it in your head and feel it roll and rumble in your consciousness.
I love that name. M.Night Shyamalan. It has a melodious, almost talismanic quality to it. Like his directorial style, it brings with it a sense of atmospheric foreboding. Like you can almost see some murky figure lingering in the vowels.. Shadowy silhouettes hiding behind the syllables.
If it were possible for a name to hold within its consonants sanctity, to contain within its folds the power to invoke, I do believe that name would be M.Night Shyamalan.
Judaism says that names have power. God's name, in fact, is too powerful to even utter. Angels' names are too beautiful to reveal. I believe that. I believe that some names can harbor Hermetic powers.
My name is international, found in every language and in every religion. It is universal in its simplicity. In ancient Arabic, the meaning of it is clear; Intoxication.

Favorite celebrity name: River Phoenix, because if only someone had paid attention that name was a herald of his death. Of course it was a child/teen star ODing on a dirty street in his brothers arms after doing a gay movie with Keanu. And Juaquin too, mmm. I know a lot of ppl think he’s fugly but come on, as Johnny Cash all in black with the cigarette smoke curling lovingly around his… sigh.
My name: Think the Rolling Stones’ You Can’t Always Get What You Want.

As for names, my father named me after a historic Islamic figure who was a Medic-Phylosopher-Alchemist-Architect-Musician-Artist madree ba3ad he might've done more stuff. I think my father meant to give a wide range of options :P Anyway, my name nevertheless has no literal meaning and I haven't met a person (institutions yes) who has it, other than me.
I had a teacher in elementary school who told me that he would name his future son after me, bas madree esh'sar 3alaih :P

where i'm from, our names are kinda like the red indian names.
mine means "scholar by/from the woods/forrest" which is kinda funny cos pure academicians(if thats a word) annoy me :P, and i much prefer the cities :D

Without a doubt one of my favorite directors although I’ve been known to call him M.Night Shamalamadingdong when I’ve had one too many mojitos.
My proper name means “bitter” in Hebrew which I am not so it’s a good thing no one ever calls me by my real name not even my professors. I didn’t even know I wasn’t named Mia until I started school and they had to call me by my real name which lasted for about one day because I wouldn’t answer to it I kept forgetting it was my real name!
Five minutes after I was born my grandma named me “Mia” which means “mine” in Spanish which is what my grandma meant when she chose the name for me. It is also the Danish and Swedish nickname for my real name so I guess it all worked out. Oh yeah it also is the female version of Michael in Hebrew which oddly enough would’ve been my name if I had been born a boy. A few other people have also told me it means “beautiful flower” in one of the oriental dialects which I cant recall now..lol
My name means: Missing some one deepley or A kind heart
I personally think I person lives by their names.. I mean if my parents named me any other name, I can't start imagining how diffrent my life would be.
I love Shyamalan's movies, especially the fate conversation on the couch in Signs, and the extremely romantic protectiveness of Jaquin's char over the blind girl in the Village, on the house front porch.
Lady in the Water was silly tho, didn't take itself seriously enough.
oh, and my name? hmm... not sure what it means exactly..
guess it means one who "buys" alot of stuff?? Teh Suck! ;-/
