Good love is on the way... Part II : The back story
"You know? If Viracocha were to walk up to me tomorrow morning, I would fall reverently to the floor and kiss his feet before looking up and asking him what the f*ck took him so long.."
She spat out that declaration, in his general direction, as if it were no more than an unsavory 'good morning'. 'Good mornings' were optional between them; they were, to some extent, mandatory among office-mates. But when the person dozing in the cubicle opposite yours also happened to be your best friend of 10 + years, 'good mornings' were very optional.
"Who the f*ck is Viracocha?" He mumbled into his Starbucks cup.
"Google it, Hawk." She snapped back. "I can't believe you've had my book for, what? Two years now and you haven't so much as cracked it open."
"ufff, min i 9ib7 oo intay it7ineen? I'm thinking maybe there can only be one reader in this friendship, Ace."
"I'm starting to space out at the oddest times.." She said, her eyes wandering towards the huge glass windows overlooking the Gulf. "Like, when I pray. I say the prayers really fast.. like some sort of coked-up auctioneer."
"You're spacing out now, Deana." He replied, cocking his head to one side, the way he always did when she confused him, which seemed to happen a lot these days.
"You know? Margaret Thatcher once said that being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren't."
"So? Jason Love said two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do. Whoopdi-f*ckin'-do .." He retorted.
"Who the hell is Jason Love?" Her eyes focused on his for a split-second.
"Google it." He shot back, wiggling his eyebrows playfully.
She shook her head and poked at her mouse, deactivating the screen saver. He turned quiet as well as he upended his Starbucks cup, emptying its contents. She began quietly tapping on her keyboard, trying not to make the slightest sound as her bare fingertips glided over the letters. He stood up suddenly and walked away from her. She relaxed a little bit into her chair, sharpening her punching of the keys just a little bit. She called up the requested sight and began her search stream.
"I knew you couldn't resist!" He materialized at her side. He had always had the annoying habit of being able to sneak up on her .. She, who had instincts that bordered on feline.
"What are you talking about?" She replied innocently, removing her fingers from the keyboard. He nodded to the page that had just finished loading.

"Curiosity killed the cat, you know?" He said, propping his feet up on the desk and leaning back in his chair.
"Yeah, well satisfaction brought it back again." She replied, clicking on the first search result.
