La Verita
I am a half kuwaiti/half american girl living in Kuwait. I am perpetually suspended in the granite hollow that fills the space between two worlds... Not quite who I am, not quite who I want to be... Cat-lover, poet, music-nut. I currently hold a PHD in both BS and Smartass. In short, I pitch my tent in the median of life..

za-za-za.. za-za-za.. zazaza-za....

Someone should email L.L.Cool J. and tell him to stick with acting... They should cc Will Smith on that while they're at it.

The originality drivers should go on tour together. Imagine. A tour of the most original artists of our time. Headliners: U2, Aerosmith, Eric Clapton, Green Day, Black Eyed Peas, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, Jewel, Matchbox Twenty, George Michael. Opening bands: Fall Out Boy, The All-American Rejects, Linkin Park, Maroon 5, Scissor Sisters, Robbie Williams, Coldplay.

Could you imagine a tour like that? How cool would that be? Maybe the combined efforts of these artists, in one arena, one night, would be enough to send forth a veritable tsunami of originality and inspiration stretching to the furthest reaches of the globe. A beat-boxer in Brooklyn, struggling with his craft would get knocked off his feet by the stylin's of BEP. A wannabe rocker in London would find beauty in the subtlety of Coldplay's influence and blatant, raw emotion in the vocals of Bono. A Harijuku girl would find herself bopping her head to the disco beats of the Scissor Sisters as she skipped down a Tokyo main street. A blogger in Kuwait would find her writer's block broken by the love and acceptence found in the lyrics of Jason Mraz, she would find herself comforted by the familiarity of John Mayer plucking at his guitar strings.

Perhaps this tsunami could provide answers to our most pertinent questions. It could shed some light on the way things are and the way they should be. It would make us wonder why the worlds leaders are not artists, who seem to have their priorities straighter than any Bush or Blair ever could.

If only....

This is what my daddy told me,
I wished he would hold me a little more than he did,
but he taught me my culture and how to live positive,
I never wanna shame the blood in my veins,
or bring pain to my sweet grandfather's face, in his resting place,
I make haste to learn and not waste everything my forefathers earned in tears,
for my culture...

I would pay to see Jewel and Robbie Williams on the same stage... and that before they even start playing music.

You got, you got, you got
what it takes to make me leave my man

I would pay to see them making out on stage rather than singing! :P

You got, you got, you got,
what it takes to make a boy be bad

funny how we make fun of these songs and yet we inevitably end up memorizing the lyrics! :P

The Morning wood song I can do without .. this song refuses to get out of my head! I walked into the office meeting singing zazazazaaza!

Getting all these top bands together would be, hmmm , what's the word,, it would be a spiritual experience.

KtK> I know.. I think there's something demonic about these songs... they have that same x-factor that's in the "it's a small world after all" song... :/

The Don> You can say that again... I, for one, would think I had died and gone to heaven.. :)

oh great now i got that song in my head,....

" iiiiits a smaaall world after all,...iiiiits a smaaall world after all,...iiiiits a smaaall world after all,..."

grrr....

Skunk> hehehehehe what are u gonna do? :P

No Backstreet Boys?? :P

I saw 'band' and automatically freaked at the thought. I have a BB disorder from listening to their CD at fanar cinema too many times.

Seriously, I should be late to movies more often so I don't have to be tortured like that :/

....I wanna see George M in his red outfit from FREEEK. So funky!

backstreet boys should be castrated! each and every last one of them! :P

george michael is hot! ;) and sooooooooo funky!

i'ma go shoot me a mickey mouse.

grrr,... bang!
