Fully Random...

FB, myself and a couple of our friends here in Boston went to the David Copperfield show at the Opera House last night. It is official... David Copperfield is a bad-a**! Fully entertaining, scintillating and engaging. I found myself in a state of child-like awe... It was like my innocence came rushing back to me. I'm not talking about behavioral innocence, I'm talking about rational and logical innocence. I didn't sit there wondering how he was doing everything he did or what the tricks behind it were. I just sat there in wonder and let the true, unclichéd magic of it wash over me in great tsunami's of hope and illusion. I was a kid again, reveling in the grandeur of something bigger than myself.

...........................................................................

FB and I have been getting into some pretty interesting conversations with the people we are in Boston with (who are, for all intents and purposes, male.) Anyway, we've been getting into a lot of conversations leaning towards the topics of marriage, relationships, honesty during the engagement period and partner check lists. In light of these conversations, I pose a few questions to you bloggers...

1. To the men, if, during the engagement, you chose to ask your betrothed whether or not she had had any past relationships... would you want an honest answer? assuming her honest answer is yes.... would you want to know the truth right then.. or would you rather just let sleeping dogs lay??

2. To the ladies, would you consider marrying a man considerably shorter than yourself?? (If you have a high-heeled shoe fetish, just imagine the horror before you answer)

3. Do you think that your partner checklist, as it currently stands, is too rigid and uncompromising?

4. To the men and women, would you rather your husband/wife-to-be were 'experienced' in the romantic domain or not? Suppliance of reasons why or why not are at the discretion of the commenter.

5. Would you agree that, no matter how you look at it, marriage is, in essence, a huge gamble?

.............................................................................

Yes, things are back like they were. DR = First!

Awal shay, I loved your opening paragraph, I could actually see you with your eyes wide open in awe at the show. Not kidding.

Your questions:

Can I please answer 1, although I'm not a guy :P
I think it depends on the guy. Some are ok about it and most are not. If we are less fortunate and dealing with the latter, I have been told that in Islam and that there is a famous 7adeeth by the rasool peace be upon him, that the girl is permitted to lie or 'hide' any previous relationships!
So...hmmmm...i dunno....

2. Not really :/ Only if I was madly deeply in love with him I guess. Bes I don't like short guys.

3. Not at all.

4. I wouldn't have it any other way! I want someone who is emotionally and physically 'mature'!

5. 500% It is a leap of faith.

ill make it short:
YES honesty is way tooo important, its that and trust that i care about...

umm would i wanna know about her past? hmm.. maybe not.. i dunno, guess it depends, i dunno lets skip this.. but in general im an honest person about my past, so if she needs 2 know then id tell her, but then again so should she ;p

short is ok , as long as she is not too short.

i hope she can kiss well.

and lastly, of course its a gamble.. life is all a risk u take so yeah..
nice post woman. :)

where at least your doing something over there!

to answer your question:

1-What's past is past, digging up graves doesn't do anyone any good

2-N/A

3-nope (becuase i've gotten down to basics)

4-I guess

5-driving to work in the morning is a GAMBLE

P.S. Krispy you've got a lot of work to do when you get back!

7> nice take on the quote! :D also, your answers were more or less predictable... except for the 'experienced baby' part! really?? :P

Dr.Lost> Hey man! nice to see you returning the commenting favor! :D Nice answers...

Solar> 4) You guess?!?! What does that mean?? tell me so I know which way to work! :P

THanx peeps! :D

Yup....I've asked loads of people to confirm it. It mimimises any problems that may happen in the future. Tadreen men are weak creatures when it comes to jealousy :P :P So so weak.

DR: i beg 2 differ.. women r more jealous.. at least the ones i've known..

I agree with you Delicately!

7> Throw me off eh?? inzain! mashee i9eer khair inshalla! :P

Dr.Lost> girls and guys both get jealous obviously but I think guys take the cake when it comes to getting jealous of a girls' past relationships!
