La Verita
I am a half kuwaiti/half american girl living in Kuwait. I am perpetually suspended in the granite hollow that fills the space between two worlds... Not quite who I am, not quite who I want to be... Cat-lover, poet, music-nut. I currently hold a PHD in both BS and Smartass. In short, I pitch my tent in the median of life..

Thought for the Day

Do some people act different just for the sake of being different? and if so, what do you do when you're sick and tired of calling people on their bullsh*t?

Sometimes normal can be different...

Let's live in the moment just this once,

As to people living on Gulf Coast - I live in Florida, my home built in 1925, wooden structure, as survived many storms and 2 low level hurricanes. Look at the pics of La and Tx - ALL homes were destroyed, including the brick and concrete ones. Some even moved off their foudations many yards and some several blocks. Check you facts before making "random" statements.

If the hurricane is strong enough
( cat 4 or 5) then of course it'll blow even concrete houses away, but you can't honestly expect me to believe that a house of wood can hold up just as well as a concrete one...

As for your house, I'm glad it haas survived, but that was only by the grace of God...

My family lives in south Texas and I have repeatedly driven my 'random' comments in their direction in hopes that they will do something about it.

People in Kuwait act ABnormally so as to gain attention...

For some unknown reason, Kuwaitis in particular are obsessed with being unique. I think it's a cultural factor. The irony arises when you assume that for such a small community of people, it shouldnt be that hard to stand out, and that such behaviour would be more akin to people living in US.

Regardless, everyone is different in their own way - obviously... people who try to stand out just to obtain a brief spell of fame or public exposure should be shot if they dont deserve it :) (my pacifist side)

Hahahahahahha!! That's some pacifist side you've got there!
But I agree, for such a small community, the number of people trying to be unique and stand out is abnormally high... It's not that difficult to stand out here. Hell, just do something freaky with ur hair and people won't shut up about it for weeks...
What's wrong with being normal? People have this misconception that normal people can't be unique... that just b/c a girl behaves in line with cultural ideals, that she's dull and boring...

It doesn't make any sense...

What happened to being free to be you and me? ;)

just like poetry :P
